Our philosophy
Success through sound training and management
A sound, realistic training builds the heart of our concept – it is the key to long-term and consistent success in showjumping. We accompany our young horses carefully during their first competition experiences and prepare them for the bigger classes with patience and fairness.
We also work with our experienced horses in such a way that their potential, willingness to perform and, above all, their health are always supported. On top, a professional stable and competition management is a matter of course for us.

As part of his self-employment, Kai Schäfer takes over the education, training and management of the riders and horses at European Youngsters. Individual support with a special focus on keeping each individual horse healthy is always his top priority.
With his experience and expertise, he ensures that both the horses and their riders receive the best possible support – always with the aim of getting the best out of each horse and preparing it ideally for the international sport.

European Youngsters in Münster
We are based at the renowned European Youngsters stables in Münster since 2020. Here we have ideal conditions for all daily needs of our horses and for a performance-oriented training of our young showjumpers.

Born: March 29, 1979
Training: apprenticeship as a rider with Lars Nieberg, completed with the “Stensbeck Plakette” in 2000
subsequently worked as a rider for Lars Nieberg at Gestüt Wäldershausen for 5 years; “Pferdewirtschaftsmeister” (2012)
Success: more than 500 wins and placings in national and international show jumping classes up to 1,60m; holder of the “Goldenes Reitabzeichen”; Nations Cup rider for Germany
Nina Schäfer
Born: September 26, 1977
Training: apprenticeship as a rider with Herbert Meyer, also completed in 2000 with the “Stensbeck Plakette”
followed by 2 years as a rider with Lars Nieberg and a further 3 years with Axel Wöckener
Success: wins and placings in national and international show jumping classes up to 1,50m; holder of the “Goldenes Reitabzeichen”
Since 2005, we have been able to gain many more valuable experiences together in renowned show stables in Germany and abroad while constantly expanding our network.
With the founding of Nina & Kai Schäfer GbR in 2019, we decided to go our own way together also economically. Being self-employed enables us to work independently and implement our visions and goals on our own responsibility. While working with the horses entrusted to us and in our cooperation with customers, students and horse owners, we always think long-term and keep the individual needs of each horse in mind.
Our location at European Youngsters in Münster offers us ideal conditions for our horses, excellent access to a broad network of breeders and an outstanding infrastructure for participating in national and international shows.
In our daily work, we are inspired by the light-flooded stables, spacious paddocks and pastures and perfect training conditions with our ebb and flow indoor and outddor arenas. Only under these professional conditions we can ensure the best possible support for our horses and prepare them for the international sport.
